Handmade Artisian Clutch Collection

clutches and purses in a pink flower design fabric

Yes you read right.... clutches!  I'm currently exploring the world of textile design and producing hand made (by fellow Australian artisians) products with my designs on them.

I have always loved fabric/textile design and often collect pieces of fabric that I love. Many people have commented over the years, with me being a full time artist, that my artwork would look amazing on fabric. This has always stuck in the back of my mind as perhaps it is something I really should look into.

The thought of delving down another rabbit hole of learning and extra computer time and no painting was overwhelming, but eventually I thought why not just give it a go. Start small and see what happens. So I hopped on my computer and started learning, googling and watching youtube videos on how to turn my paintings into patterns, and the ball had started rolling for me.

I also found other artists that were exploring the world of textiles and asked them questions and I do love how kind and informative some artists are. Never be afraid to just ask a question. Don't get disheartened if you don't get a reply from someone just try someone else. It's as simple as that.

After creating a few seamless pattern designs on my computer, I got some small samples printed onto fabric to see if I was on the right track with the colours, quality etc. They looked great, some needed colour tweaking but it is a learning process and I was definitely impressed with the quality so far. I also found a lovely artist who could create gorgeous clutches and purses using my fabric. A huge shout out to the lovely Michelle who runs Momoyama Bags on Etsy. You are so passionate and your clutches are just divine!

I'm excited to sat these gorgeous accessories are now available as a limited edition small range of wooden handled clutches, metal handled purses, coin purses and key fobs. I'm starting small and seeing how it goes. The overall market is kinda tough at the moment for everyone, so it is always a bit risky starting something new, but we will see.

I would love to know your thoughts and any feedback on this new area of accessories.

Feel free to send me a message and chat anytime.

Make sure to be on my mailing list for any new updates on products and artworks. Thank you for being here. x
